EASTER REVISION COURSES

Every year the Greater London Tutorial Agency receives a great deal of interest in Easter revision courses. In order to provide our clients with a consistent high quality service we have entered into partnership with Holland Park Tuition, who are offering GCSE Mathematics and Science Revision Courses. The course offers focused tuition in small groups tailored to the demands of the Higher Tier GCSE Mathematics and Double Science examinations.

Easter revision courses have been consistently shown to give a much needed boost to the confidence and exam performance of students in the nerve-racking run-up to their GCSEs. The Holland Park programme builds upon its success in helping students prepare for public examinations through practice and isolation of tricky issues. This will help students to secure the top GCSE grade they are capable of and ensure that they are comfortable and well prepared for their examinations.

From the student's point of view, revision courses are an excellent study aid, structuring revision and injecting liveliness and fun into the process to avoid the loneliness, frustration and apathy that can often be the result of being ‘cooped up' at home or in the library. The support given by revision courses even extends beyond the classroom, with each student receiving advice on creating a personal plan for further individual study.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE

Prior to arriving at the course, each student will be sent a questionnaire to identify any areas they are particularly keen to spend time on; these will then be collated to create a revision programme that incorporates both common and individual contact time with the tutor. We feel it is very important that each class is largely focused around group work; not only does this lead to a more vibrant and energetic dynamic, but it also encourages the realization in the student that he or she is not alone in needing extra help. The camaraderie that is the result of such sessions is one of the principal advantages of our revision course.

Both of our courses have been designed to give the maximum possible amount of contact time with the tutor, while at the same time recognizing the fact that the student will be revising for a variety of subjects and therefore needs time both to concentrate on these and to relax. Thus we also guarantee that although some small amount of homework may be set overnight, this will not be such as to materially affect the student's time outside the course.

THE TUTORS

The tutors teaching each course will be handpicked from the reliable and hugely experienced resource group of tutors that Holland Park Tuition has built up during its time as a successful and trusted provider of private tuition, thus ensuring that they will have not only the relevant experience but also the required security checks.

FURTHER DETAILS

Each course will run twice, giving a choice of weeks during the Easter holidays.

The Maths programme, which will take place at a location in High St Kensington, W8, runs over four mornings from 9am to 1pm each day, giving a total of 16 hours contact time with the tutor, starting on the 2nd April (until the 5th ) and the 10th (until the 13th ). The cost of this course will be £300 per student.

The Science course, which is designed to cover the Double Award, will take place over five days in Gloucester Road , SW7. This course will run from 10am to 5pm each day, with a one hour break for lunch, giving a total of 30 hours of study, from 9th -13th April. The cost of this course will be £600 per student.
